Money, as always, seems to be the goal of this particular sport. This is normal, this is commerce. What does not seem to be normal is the fate of the dogs themselves. Apparently, greyhound dogs bred for the dog racing sport hardly ever reach over the age of five years old.
They are often killed when they can no longer win races. Greyhounds also suffer a wide range of injuries such as foot pad abrasions, ligament strains, leg fractures, broken bones and more whilst running the races. When muzzled, they are unable to deter insects that land on their sores.
Question: Is greyhound dog racing really a cruel and inhumane sport?Anyone wants to post their thoughts on this may do so.
